Pros in the audiobook narrating community make an equally compelling case for hearing their audio in the booth through headphones or monitor speakers. They swear by both! Full disclosure, I did a session recently using monitor speakers and actually like the freedom (not to mention eliminating the occasional noise from the headphone cable). The phones come out when it’s time to edit and when you do, invest in a good quality. What’s your “must have” in the booth for recording sessions?
